Dearborn Man Killed in Fatal Accident

Dearborn Police are investigating the cause of a pedestrian accident near Warren Avenue and Payne Street.

A 59-year-old Dearborn man was killed on Friday when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Warren Avenue, police said.

At approximately 8:06 p.m., the man was crossing Warren Avenue near Payne Street when he was hit by a silver Dodge Durango driven by a 47-year-old Dearborn man.

The pedestrian was transported to Oakwood Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Durango was uninjured.

"While our investigation is continuing, it appears at this time that the collision was accidental and alcohol was not a factor," Chief Ronald Haddad said.

Haddad said the accident was "a terrible tragedy" and expressed his sympathy to the family of the victim.

Police are not releasing the name of the deceased man, however the Facebook group Dearborn Area Community Members said Ibrahim Beidoun was killed in the accident.

Beidoun is survived by his wife, four children, five brothers and four sisters.
