Dearborn Heights Woman Arraigned on Robbery Charges

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

On Saturday, July 20 at about 6:45 p.m., Dearborn police responded to the CVS drug store on Michigan Avenue near Outer Drive on a report of a woman assaulting store employees after stealing merchandise.

Officers arrested Shelby Dudek, 23, of Dearborn Heights after she allegedly assaulted a CVS employee while attempting to flee the store, police said.

Dudek attempted to steal $400 worth of razors, baby formula and various other items from CVS.

She was arraigned on charges of unarmed robbery, and bond was set at $5,000.

"The perpetrator of this crime added injury to insult by attacking an employee after stealing merchandise from the store. This type of crime will not be tolerated and those who turn a larceny into a robbery by using force will be charged accordingly," chief Ronald Haddad said.
