Crime Report: Two Dearborn Home Break-ins Reported

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two Dearborn homes–one occupied, one vacant and bank-owned–were broken into recently, according to reports.

A real estate agent who is representing a home on the 7400 block of Williamson reported to police on Oct. 28 that the home had been broken into some time since Oct. 15.

According to the report, the lockbox on the door of the home had been pried open and the key inside stolen. The real estate agent reported that the hot water heater appeared to be the only thing missing from the house.

A homeowner on the 3000 block of Dudley also reported a break-in last week. According to the woman, the robbery occurred on Oct. 27 between 6 a.m.-5 p.m.

The woman said she believed someone kicked in her front door, as the door was locked when she left that morning and was open with ripped moulding when she returned that evening. Her rear door wall was also open, which police believe was where the perpetrator exited the home.

According to the report, the master bedroom, spare bedroom and office had been rummaged through. The only thing missing was a jewelry box containing $150 worth of jewelry and a class ring.

Police were able to obtain partial fingerprints from the glass door, but no suspects were discovered.
