Crime Report: Tree-Killer Strikes in Levagood Park

Someone is cutting down trees at Dearborn's –and residents in the neighborhood are hoping police will do something to stop it.
A resident of Franklin Street filed a report with Dearborn police on Sunday morning, saying that someone had cut down a tree in the park just north of his street. The resident said that the tree was last seen in-tact at 8 p.m. Saturday evening.
Police investigated and found a small, fallen tree in the park. According to the report, it appeared to have been cut down with a knife or saw.

The resident told police that this was not an isolated incident, and cut-down trees have been spotted in the park before.
No suspects were named in the crime, nor was it clear what the motive was.

However, it's not the only crime reported at a Dearborn park this month.
On June 13, a park manager at found that a recreation building at the park had been broken into and vandalized.
According to police reports, the door to the building had been kicked open and a vending machine inside had been tipped over. The office in the building had been gone through, but nothing appeared to be missing.
Outside, someone had spray painted "NAWAH.DC" on the east side of the building.
There is no evidence that the park-related crimes are connected.
