A 42 year-old Dearborn woman on June 30 called police in regards to suspicious fires that had taken place near her home.
According to a report, the possible arson started when the woman found a mango juice box on fire in the alley near her garage that day at about 10:15 a.m.
She put the fire out, but then again at 12:15 p.m. she smelled something else burning while in her garage. She emerged to see a tree branch on fire. After calling 911, she used her hose to put out the flames, believing the fire could have been a danger to the nearby garage.
The woman noticed two young boys in the area after the fire. Members of the arrived before police and talked to the boys, but let them go believing they were not involved.
Upon further investigation by the responding police officer, a plastic bottle with an unknown liquid leaking from it was found. The liquid appeared to be water, but the officer reported he could smell accelerants.
Photos of the scene were taken in response, but no suspects were apprehended.
