Crime Report: More Thanksgiving Weekend Home Break-ins Reported

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Several Dearborn residents came home from Thanksgiving holiday vacations to find their homes ransacked and items–including jewelry, cash and gift cards–missing.

The reports followed a , all of which occurred while the residents were out.

A resident of the 2900 block of Hubbard Drive reported a break-in on Sunday that occurred while he was out of town between Nov. 23-27.

According to police reports, the home's front door was kicked in to gain entry. Stolen items included a total of $500 cash and $50 in gift cards, plus a watch, gold wedding ring and costume jewelry. All rooms of the house had been ransacked.

A flat-screen TV had been pulled off of the wall, and three guns had been taken out of their cases, according to the homeowner. However, the TV and all guns were left behind.

A resident of the 2800 block of Hubbard Drive also reported a break-in to her home between 4 p.m. Nov. 25 and 7 p.m. Nov. 26, during which times she was gone.

Like the first Hubbard Drive resident, her door was also kicked in to gain entry.

According to the report, stolen items included three rings, five pairs of earrings and two necklaces. The total worth of the jewelry was reported to be around $2,600.

Two residents of a home on the 22400 block of Princeton Street was out of town from Nov. 20 through Nov. 27, and found that his home had been broken into during their vacation.

Both bedrooms and the office had been ransacked, according to police reports, and three watches, a laptop, a digital camera and $775 in cash had been stolen.

A resident of the 1600 block of Kingsbury also reported a theft from his home while he was out of town from Nov. 23-27. The only missing item was an unspecified number of collectible coins.
