Crime Report: Dearborn Woman Harrassed by Knife-Wielding Driver

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Dearborn woman called police on Monday after enduring what she said was an attempt by an unknown man to assault her from his car.

According to Dearborn police reports, the resident told officers that she was driving north on Greenfield Road near Warren Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on Monday when a silver Jeep Liberty pulled up next to her passenger side. The woman said the driver began throwing things at her car, and she drove off in an attempt to get away.

However, she said, the Jeep caught up to her and pulled up very close to her passenger door, at which point the man began swinging a knife at her.

As she drove further down Greenfield and into the city of Detroit, she told police that she got a good look at the assailant when he got out of his car and tried to approach her on foot. She drove off before he could make it to her car.

The woman told police that she did not know the man, but could describe him clearly. He was a white male with  dark brown hair and brown eyes, wearing black pants, a black baseball hat and a black, short sleeved shirt. She said he was around 5 feet, 9 inches tall and of a slim build.

The only damaged sustained were several scratches to her car caused by the knife, according to the woman. She was unharmed in the incident.
