Crime Report: Dearborn Resident Lends Lawnmower, Reports It As Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

What seemed like the neighborly thing to do turned into an alleged theft for one Dearborn homeowner on Saturday, June 9.

According to reports, a homeowner on the 6400 block of Yinger answered a knock on her door around 1 p.m. Saturday. The caller identified himself as a neighbor, and asked to borrow her lawnmower.

She obliged, picking up the electric Craftsman lawnmower from the garage and handing it over to the young man.
