Two thefts of catalytic converters from cars were reported over New Year's weekend, according to reports.
A resident of the 7500 block of Kentucky parked his 1999 Oldsmobile Alero in front of his home at 3 p.m. Dec. 30. When he came back to the car at 10 a.m. the following morning, he found that his catalytic converter had been stolen.
No other damage to the car was reported.
Also on Dec. 31, the owner of a 2004 Pontiac Montana said the same part had been stolen from his vehicle. The van had been parked in the lot of the store at Michigan Avenue and Greenfield Road from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., according to the owner. The missing catalytic converter was discovered when he returned to the vehicle at 5 p.m.
In both cases, no suspect information was available.
