Crime Report: Break-In Attempts Reported at Two Dearborn Homes
The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Two Dearborn residents reported attempted break-ins to their homes within the past week, according to Dearborn police reports.
On Saturday, Sept. 1, an attempted break-in was reported on West Lane Court. The resident told police that she had found signs of attempted entry to her home, which police confirmed. It appeared as though someone had tried to pry open the home's sliding door, but was stopped by a piece of wood the homeowner had placed inside of the home to stop the door.
Then on Monday on the 4700 block of Chovin, a resident told police that someone had tried to gain entry to her home within the past 36 hours.

The resident said that she had been gone since 9 a.m. on Sunday, and when she returned at 9 p.m. Monday, she noticed damage to her two back doors and window.
Police investigated, and found pry marks on both doors and window, as well as a small red stain they believed might be blood. The resident also told police that she had found handprints on the window, but had cleaned them off prior to officers' arrival.
