Early Sunday morning, a fight broke out in front of west downtown Dearborn bar The Well, requiring police intervention that eventually lead to three arrests.
officers originally responded to a call about the fight. That altercation led to the arrest of two men involved.
But according to police reports, while attempting to contain the group that had formed outside at about 1:40 a.m., an officer looked back to see his squad car's driver-side front door wide open and a man hurriedly exiting.
The officer ran over to the 24 year-old man who said he was only taking pictures of the car. The man gave the officer permission to remove his ID from his pocket, but when the officer reached for the ID, he inadvertently found a plastic vial of what appeared to be marijuana.
The police report described the man as having “bloodshot, glassy” eyes.
But the troubles only continued to mount for the man who then admitted that the ID was not his, but a friend's that he had borrowed in order to gain entry into bars that night.
All in all, the man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, obstructing police and tampering with a motor vehicle.
The officer reported that nothing was broken or stolen inside of his vehicle.
