According to data provided by the on CrimeMapping.com, eight home invasions were reported within the past week within city limits. All but one occurred in the city's east end.
The first, reported on the afternoon of Dec. 30, was at a residence on the 1600 block of Wyoming in Dearborn's south end.
The other break-ins were reported as follows: 8 p.m. Dec. 31 on the 7300 block of S. Manor; 1 a.m. Jan. 2 on the 7400 block of Maple; 8 a.m. Jan. 2 on the 6400 block of Hartwell; 2 p.m. Jan. 2 on the 7300 block of Coleman; 5 p.m. Jan. 3 on the 5600 block of Kenilworth; and 9 p.m. Jan. 5 on the 6200 block of Coleman.
Several business break-ins were also reported during this time period.
The break-in on Kenilworth was reported by a resident of Novi who owns the home but does not live there currently.
According to police reports, her neighbor checks the house every few days, and the afternoon of Jan. 3, found that the rear window had been broken and the house had been rummaged through, including boxes and furniture. Several valuable items and important personal documents were stolen from the home.
The homeowner told police that the home has been broken into several times before during the last few months.
