Crime Blotter: Tailgates Stolen from Trucks in Ford Rouge Lot

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

An odd string of thefts hit the parking lot of the Ford Motor Company Rouge Plant the afternoon of April 9, according to reports.

Three separate incidents of theft were reported by employees of the plant: In each case, the tailgate was stolen from the employee's Ford F150 truck.

The trucks ranged in age from 2008 to 2011. Two were parked near gate 10, while the third was parked near gate 9 of the Ford Rouge lot.

The first report put the time frame of the theft between 1:45-11 p.m.; the second was reported as happening between 11:45 a.m.-8 p.m.; the third between 2:15-6 p.m.

No suspects were named in any of the three thefts.
