Some time between 6:30 and 10:45 p.m., a burglar allegedly smashed a bedroom window with a rock and climbed inside, taking nearly $2,000 worth of jewelry before leaving through the back door.

That same day, the owner of a home on the 5100 block of Palmer reported that his home was broken into while he was out between 1 and 3:15 p.m. According to police reports, the burglar broke the glass of a side door to gain entry and ransacked a bedroom.
