3 Police Departments on Hunt for Serial Armed Robbers

Police are looking for tips on trio of robbers who hit up Bronco's Saloon in Dearborn and are believed to be involved in similar bar robberies in Wyandotte and Southgate over the last few weeks.

A series of armed robberies at southeast Michigan bars has three local police departments joining forces to find three suspects they believe committed all the crimes.

On Feb. 10, responded to a call about an armed robbery at on Maple Road. Similar incidents were reported at 3 Nicks Tap Room in Southgate on Jan. 30, as well as Quit-N-Time in Wyandotte on Feb. 17.

Wyandotte Patch was able to obtain and upload footage from the entire robbery, which can be viewed here.

In the Dearborn incident, employees of the bar told police that three men wearing ski masks–two with handguns, one with a rifle–walked in and told everyone to get on the ground. One man, holding an AK-47, told the bartender to open the safe and Keno drawer and place them on the bar. One of the other men grabbed the money–around $3,000 in cash–and placed it in a blue pillowcase.

A patron of the bar also reported that he was robbed.

The reports of the Wyandotte and Southgate incidents matched the descriptions of the suspects and the method of robbery.

However, police have told Patch that the gunmen have grown increasingly violent throughout the string of robberies–even firing a round and assaulting several people in the robbery in Wyandotte.

"They've struck three times now and we're really concerned that someone is going to get hurt if they aren't caught and caught soon," Wyandotte Police Chief Daniel Grant said. “We’re worried if this keeps on, they could become more violent. We don’t want to see this escalate any further.”

Detectives from the three police departments have been meeting regularly over the last week to compare notes and discuss tips each department has been receiving.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Wyandotte police at 734-324-4438, Dearborn police at 313-943-3012 or Southgate police at 734-258-3061.
