3 Arrested for Armed Robbery of Dearborn Resident

The men are accused of taking a cell phone at gunpoint on Saturday.

on Wednesday announced the arrest of three Detroit men for the armed robbery of a Dearborn resident.

Michael Lee Williams, 17; Jonathan Dewayne Colvin, 18; and Joshua Isaiah Johnson, 23, have been charged with armed robbery stemming from an incident on the 7800 block of Indiana Street in Dearborn on Saturday night.

Williams and Colvin were also charged with felony firearm use, and Colvin was charged as a habitual offender, second offense notice.

All three men are Detroit residents.

According to police, two Dearborn residents were sitting on the porch of their home on Indiana Street on Saturday night when two men approached them, brandishing handguns and demanding the cell phone one person was holding. The men then got into a vehicle and drove off.

The victims immediately called Dearborn police, who were able to locate the vehicle to a party store in Detroit, where they arrested Williams, Colvin and Johnson. Police also confiscated two handguns, and recovered a cell phone from the men.

All three were arraigned in front of Judge Mark Somers in the on Tuesday. Bond was set at $250,000 cash for each defendant.

Their preliminary examination will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at 9 a.m. in the courthouse.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad thanked the involved residents for their help in locating the suspects, and noted that they are also suspected of involvement in additional armed robberies in Detroit.

"With the help of the victims, our officers arrested multiple violent offenders who were likely active in several nearby communities," Haddad said in a statement. "We're pleased to see this type of arrest that results in a safer quality of life for not only Dearborn residents but those in surrounding communities as well."

Proud to say I sat on the jury for Williams....your "boy" is on his way to prison for a lot of years.....he robbed women and old people.....good bye!

I'm quite sure u did sit in and Mr jury do u even suppose to tell anybody's business I'm sure if anyone wanted information about the outcome of the hearing they would have came I went to the hearings all of them because I deal wit one of them telling they business is not your job......

(supporting) supporring isn't a word......and for Mr concerned ur not all that fine either I seen ur picture that sits on the brown shelf watch ur self Hunni ur not hot.....calling them low life's because they did something to feed the family don't make them bad guys the crime was in the robbery but not for feeding and taking care of home never judge a book by its cover just because the head lines reads 3black men arrested in dearborn for armed robbery read the book first before u make a judgement about anyone they aren't horrible men I'm a girlfriend of one of them and he is everything to me and our family these men left behind children mothers fathers sisters brothers friends and they lives but it will make them stronger men and I'm sure they will and have learned from the mistakes but may God bless our family........TEAM JOHNSON FOR LIFE......
