2 Charged For November Break-In to Dearborn Home

The men, residents of Redford and Detroit, have also been charged with crimes in Garden City and Eastpointe.

Dearborn police have arrested and charged two men suspected of robbing homes in Dearborn, Garden City and Eastpointe, the department announced Wednesday.

Michael DeAngelo Freeman of Redford; and Jenico Marquis Peterson of Detroit have been arraigned on felony charges of home invasion and larceny in Dearborn's 19th District Court.

They've also been charged with crimes in Garden City and Eastpointe.

The Dearborn charges stem from a Nov. 14 incident.

Dearborn police were called to a home on the 22000 block of Cherry Hill around 5 p.m. that day on a report of a home invasion. Residents told police that the home was broken into through a side door, and that jewelry was missing.

According to police, evidence was found at the home that led to two possible suspects.

On Nov. 21, plain clothes officers from Dearborn followed the two suspects, which led them to Garden City. There, police wached as the men attempted to break into one home, were scared off, and then successfully broke into another Garden City home.

Dearborn police then arrested the men and recovered stolen property and a handgun.

Freeman and Peterson, both 21, face a preliminary exam on Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. in the 19th District Court.

Dearborn Chief of Police Ronald Haddad urged the public's assistance in resolving such crimes.

“The community's support is needed to assist in watching over our residents and homes," Haddad said in a statement. "Residents should contact the police immediately if someone appears suspicious or out of place.”
