Make it Melton?

My mom called me today because Patrick Melton pounded on her door this weekend and was asking for her to vote for him in the city council election.  Apparently he talked about crime in Dearborn and how he was going to fix our crime problem if he was elected.  Which is something that's on everyone's mind.  Then he told her about his experience.  So I googled him and I'm wondering if he's actually qualified.  He says that he's been a sheriff for 22 years, but his Sheriff profile says he worked in three county jails, the airport, and then he's a political appointee of Wayne County.  So does he actually have law enforcement experience or not?  I read that he's also the chairman of the worst ran pension fund in the country and folks want to leave that pension fund.  SO, is Patrick going to be someone that can help us decrease the crime in Dearborn - or is he another fake?  Do we want someone on the city council that has suspect experience or do we want someone with real experience?  Who is Patrick Melton?  And what's the deal with his claim that he's a Michigan grad?
