HFCC will present “Building Sustainable Communities”

Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 11:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Rosenau Room A-B-C, located in the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center.
The keynote speaker will be Gloria Rivera, who is part of the Bioneer movement. Founded in 1990, the Bioneers seek to highlight innovative approaches to environmental and social challenges. The organization believes that building connections between people who share a commitment to solving these issues can transform communities. Rivera has created sustainable communities inside Detroit by partnering with the Black and Brown Alliance, Zero Waste Detroit and the Detroit Food and Justice Task Force. This free event is sponsored by the HFCC Religious Studies Program and Council of World Cultures in an effort to foster global awareness and understanding throughout HFCC and the greater community through the study of world cultures.
