Fireworks

Awhile back the State of Michigan passed a law making legal what folks have been doing in the State for decades, shooting off fireworks.  Instead of Ohio getting all the tax revenue, the State gets it now, one of the many reasons we are not in a deficit situation.  One problem.  It may be legal to shoot them off in your yard, but with smaller yards in Dearborn, that makes our neighbors 'easy' targets, totally unintentional I am sure!  How to make shooting off fireworks safer?
We know all the don't's, not in the street, not on the sidewalk etc, but one of those don'ts does not make sense, shooting them off in parks or large school parking lots and activity fields.  The city says that is a no-no according to state statute.  Seems to me that since the State stirred the 'pot' so too speak, by passing the fireworks law, the State could also modify it to allow fireworks to be shot off safely on public property such as schools and parks, away from our homes.  Only the city can make inquiries regarding this suggestion, so if you agree, contact the city and make some 'noise'.
It's just plain common sense, so maybe with some pressure, we can get a 'thumbs up' and have fireworks parties in the parks and save our neighbors, and pets, the hassle of the noise and potential fire hazard of  mis-directed fireworks.  Let the city know, they need ammunition, the voices of you and I,  to tell the state to modify the law.
