Dearborn Patch has jumped the shark
As of right now (6:30pm on 9/16/13) two out of eight stories on the front page of the Dearborn Patch have some relevance to Dearborn. The other six have nothing to do with us. This site has become as regional and worthless as the Press & Guide. I thought the Patch was supposed to be about "micro" and neighborhood journalism? But now we get stories about Grosse Ile, a generic filler story about "me time" (how hard would it be to plug in local stuff?), a generic story about tutors (again, how hard would it be to plug in local info), a generic story about iPhones, news briefs from Rochester, New Baltimore, Plymouth-Canton and Birmingham. Three-fourths of those cities aren't even in Wayne County.
Then, last week there was a completely unedited rant about Oakwood Hospital posted on the front page in the category of "Local Sports."
Seriously, how much longer before the Dearborn Patch slips to utter irrelevancy to people in Dearborn? Or has that day already arrived?
