"DARK MONEY"

Had an interesting conversation with a local elected official about "Dark Money" and how it threatens the individual vote and the democratic process. "Dark Money" is money hidden by donors to influence political outcomes. According to this person's well-connected sources, the Koch brothers, who made their fortune selling their Dixie  products, are not limiting their movie contributions to to state and national elections, but are beginning to pump monies into to local, municipal elections; not so much for the purpose of affecting legislative outcomes, but to groom candidates for higher state and national elected positions. When the Roberts Supreme Court opened the floodgates of campaign contributions, it said that the transparency of who was giving how much to whom would be a moderating force of monies pumped into the political process. That never happened, and people like the Koch brothers, hiding in  anonymity, continues to channel their riches into the process to achieve self-serving objectives that undermine the Fourteenth and Nineteenth Amendments of the US Constitution- your vote.  P3
