City Codes.
During the 1990s and early 2000s in Dearborn, city inspections of commercial buildings and residential dwellings were typically conducted by the Building and Safety Department. The Dearborn Fire Marshall preceded in this responsibility. Many of the commercial buildings and resident homes were passed while having major code violations, including structure, electrical, plumbing and furnace issues. These violations dangerously compromised the safety and well-being of people, and stigmatized the reputation of Dearborn city standards. Where was the indignation of upholding city codes then, that we're hearing about on the garage code issue? The garage code issue pales in comparison to the systematic violation of city codes, and is tantamount to a pimple on a gnat's behind. P3
