Community Update

I guess we've officially been welcomed to our new neighborhood. Early this morning someone broke into my sons work truck parked in front of our home. Thankfully they were unable to get to the equipment but they did get the GPS and a water test kit. Not sure what a crackhead might need a water test kit for but, who knows. Thank you to the company Belfor for being understanding that it was just a random act and not holding my son responsible. I have lived in Dearborn for twenty + years and before moving here, silly me assumed that as long as it was still 48124, we were good. What a difference coming across Pelham makes!!  I have seen things that I never knew existed in Dearborn here. Adults running stop signs at the PARK, dogs with no leashes running thru the park, letting dogs crap and not cleaning it up but looking around to see if someone is watching!! Yeah, I saw you!!Kids gathering in the park to play basketball then fighting and using the foulest language I have ever heard. Throwing your trash on lawns as you walk down the street. Stealing our lawn mower and my daughters scooter in our first week here. Not sure what the solution to the problem is, more police patrols would probably help as there aren't many around here on a regular basis. Perhaps the owners of all of these rental houses might care who they are renting to and remember they own the homes and just because they moved, doesn't mean they shouldn't care anymore. My children don't go to the park across the street unattended because I am concerned for their safety, they are 10 and 12! We left our home temporarily until it is repaired from a fire, not sure if we can stay here much longer and wait it out. I hate to think what could be next.....
