Dearborn Resident, Veteran Frank D. Carmichael Jr. Passes at 82

A longtime Dearborn resident and World War II veteran, Frank Carmichael Jr. was active in many local veteran groups.

Frank Carmichael Jr., a longtime Dearborn resident, passed away June 10. He was 82.

Carmichael served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, and was member of many veteran groups in Dearborn, including the Dearborn Marine Corp League (Cafe Time member), the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1494, Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, the Allied War Veterans Post 364, and Veterans Post 2107. He served on the Ritual Team for the Allied War Veterans and was a volunteer for the Department of Veterans Affairs. 

Carmichael is survived by his long-time companion, Mickey Durham; his children Patrick (Linda),  Kevin (Susan), Dr. Kelly Carmichael, and Lori; his grandchildren Brenna Neal and Kelly Carmichael Jr.; his great-grandchildren Kayla Packer and Sonia Sobuh. He was predeceased by his wife Loretta and his brother John Carmichael.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at the , 1200 Oakwood Blvd., in Dearborn.
