Dearborn’s Adopt-A-Watt to be Featured at White House

DEARBORN, Michigan – Adopt-A-Watt founder Thomas A. Wither has been invited to the White House, on November 12, 2013, to present an overview the National Adopt-A-Watt® Program.

Mr. Wither will be joined by Adopt-A-Watt® Advisory Board Member Jigar Shah, Founder of SunEdison and the first CEO of the Carbon War Room, a Richard Branson initiative.

Mr. Wither will highlight features of Dearborn’s Adopt-A-Watt® Program that allow America’s, financially-challenged, public agencies to transition to energy efficient lighting and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, at no cost to taxpayers.

Mr. Shah will share his vision for utilizing “new business models and financial innovation” to help arrest climate-change and “unlock the greatest wealth creation opportunity of our time”.

Rather than waiting for yet to be developed technology, business model innovation is the key to attract mainstream capital and unlock transformational change. Their combined presentation will illuminate the financial benefits and stress the global importance of deploying, existing, energy efficient technology, today and not waiting for technological ‘breakthroughs’.

White House invitations have been extended to the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Council on Environmental Quality, National Economic Council, Office of Energy and Climate Change, as well as, U.S. Department of Energy, EV Everywhere team members.
