Detroit Lions Preseason Outlook 2012

What I think as a fan.

Last year the Lions made exponential improvements on the field last year, but the DUI charges and other off the field issues are my concern. The implications of the few Lions players were embarrassing to say the least for not only the team and fans but also including the city of Detroit itself. Besides the off the field issues and injuries retaining to multiple positions harbouring over the squad they should still win more games than last year and hopefully make a farther playoff run.

With the likes of Calvin Johnson, and Suh being returning starters both leaders of their respective offense or defense. Johnson Jr. being the playmaker he has always been with Suh coming off a sophomore slump-year in regards to statistics his rookie season was much more productive numbers wise. In Suh's defense off the field issues such as injuries and charges being pressed were plaguing him all year if he can learn to mature and be there to lead the defense like he needs to the Lions offense should carry enough firepower to make yet another successful run and improve.

The one position we feel the lions could use some serious help would be the running back position if Jahvid Best would have stayed healthy I truely believe the Lions could have easily won the Super Bowl. The man ran for over two hundred yards on just twelve carries. For those who do not realize are numbers that are unheard of for the NFL. Some people seem to down play the fact the Lions have some serious elite threats and the type of athletes that can really do some damage with the right coaching and support of fans there is no goal we can not achieve together.

Stafford is coming off a career year, and is looking to improve even more if there is a more consistent running game it will be even easier for him to rack up the passing game number. Overall, I believe the Detroit Lions will be a force to be reckoned with this year. If you are a smart football fan you have to keep your eyes out for these guys.
