Kittens! The Dearborn Animal Shelter's Got Them

The shelter is urging cat adoptions to reduce the large number of animals currently in their care.

It's springtime, and for the , that means one thing: Kittens. And lots of them.

Kittens with still their mom, kittens in need of fostering, and plenty of kittens ready to be adopted.

Last year, the Dearborn Animal Shelter had so many animals in their care–especially cats–that they didn't have enough room to care for them. Don't let that happen again: Adopt today!

The adoption fee for a kitten under the age of four months is $55. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worm check, spay or neuter, microchip ID, travel box, cat comforter and cat care information. An optional, but recommended, combination feline AIDS and feline leukemia test (for cats 12 weeks and older) is an additional $20.

Adopters are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adopters must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.
