A Tribute to the Michigan War Dog Memorial

After seeing the site and how you folks (AMVETS, Volunteers, etc) resurrected the site from total obscurity I was amazed and hooked.

"Hi Folks

First and foremost  THANKS for what you are doing.

As a Veteran and Dog lover I was honored to attend the ceremony March 9th at the Michigan War Dog memorial.

I never knew we had one until about one year ago, a Vietnam Veteran, in tears, talked about (I assume) this grave yard and of his Dog he was told he could not bring home.   Nothing was ever mentioned again until I heard about this dedication.

I'm  a life member of the AMVETS, American Legion and DAV.  I attended the ceremony as a member of the American Legion Riders Oxford Post 108,  Patriot Guard Rider, and spectator.   I'm the PSO for the American Legion and AMVETS Post 108 and mentioned at our meeting what you are doing.  I received a very positive response and told to get more information.

We may be inclined to help with a financial contribution in the future but please forward me anything you can so I can post it.    Also,  some of my buddies responsible for the Rochester Hills Veterans Memorial Point located at Avon Rd and Livernois mention that they are considering placing a War Dog Memorial Stone ( monument for the lack of a better word) at the point in the near future and would like your participation at the dedication.  Stay tuned on this one.

Please forward anything I/We can use as informational literature to be passed out or presented at future meetings.

Thanks again for what you are doing, one word would describe what you folks are doing.........AWESOME!"
