Candidate Karen Jacobsen Responds to Supreme Court Ruling on Obamacare

Karen Jacobsen, Republican Candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Michigan's 12th District, Responds to Supreme Court Decision on Obamacare

June 28, 2012 will be remembered as a significant day in the history of our country.  The ruling of the Supreme Court will have an adverse effect on our economy, freedoms and availability to quality health care.  June 28th will be the day that President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and John Dingell will have to start telling the American people the truth.  The health care law, their most prized accomplishment, will be known as the largest regressive tax increase ever.  The Obama, Reid, Pelosi and Dingell team, just raised taxes on the working poor, the unemployed, and everyone else in this country.

There is nothing affordable about Obamacare. Our economy will suffer as employers and employees have to figure out exactly how much this is going to cost.  Plain and simple, Obamacare is a job killer.  My experience as a business owner tells me this will force employers to avoid risk and take an extremely cautious approach to growth.  The cost of doing business and the additional price tag of compliance with Obamacare regulations will take scarce funds away from hiring new employees and investment in growth.

Enough is enough. We the people must step up, we must stand together, and we must not allow the federal government to run every part of our lives.

I will work to repeal Obamacare my first day in office.  We know where Congressman Dingell stands on this issue.  June 28th was his day of celebration, his marked accomplishment to pass the most regressive tax increase in American history.  We need a new direction.  We need a fresh approach and I am here to give you that alternative.  Join me and stop this expansion of the federal government’s size, scope and authority.

I am a businesswoman, an accountant, and a mother.  After the Supreme Court decision on Obamacare, I am concerned more than ever about the future and the direction of our country.

We need to reduce, not increase, the size of the federal government.  We need new people in Washington D.C. to make this happen.  Congressman Dingell has now reached his most desired accomplishment, a federal takeover of our health care system and a tax increase on all Americans. It is time to thank him for his service and throw him a retirement party.
