Congressman Dingell To Speak at the Upcoming Dearborn Democratic Club Meeting.

Congressman John D. Dingell will join a history of great guests of the Dearborn Democratic Club when he speaks at their meeting Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

The Dearborn Democratic Club hopes you will join us in welcoming Congressman John Dingell to the Wednesday, June 29, meeting beginning at 7 p.m. at the UAW Local 245, located at 1226 Monroe Street.

Over the Congressman's busy weekend here, he welcomed his colleague from Maryland, Congresswoman Edwards to our area. Given how close her district is to Washington, D.C., she helped find accommodations for Wyandotte's Roosevelt High School Marching Band during the 2009 Inauguration and in return for the very grateful marching band, she was greeted at the airport and she seemed thrilled at the marching band's recent gesture of thanks. That's a pretty extraordinary greeting. Our area has the best students in the country, no? That's classy!

So now, it is my turn to welcome the Congressman, only I do not have a marching band at my disposal, so I am hoping that you can help simply by attending the meeting and learning a little bit about the club at the same time.

So far this year, we have had the following guest speakers: Mayor O'Reilly; Dearborn's state Sen. Morris Hood; one of Dearborn's state representatives, George Darany; CEO and Founder of the Michigan Center for Election Law and Administration Jocelyn Benson; and now, Congressman Dingell. Soon,  the club will be hosting the Chairman of the Wayne County Commission and Dearborn's Wayne County Commissioner, Gary Woronchak, and others, too.

So, if you are curious to find out how to plug into the Dearborn Democratic Club and its activities, this Wednesday is a good day to start by being a part of what will prove to be a great meeting.
