Test Drive for Pets at Fairlane Ford in Dearborn

The adoption event with the Dearborn Animal Shelter will run 12-6 p.m. today.

Today only, a test drive of the 2013 Ford Escape could mean big benefits for the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

The Fairlane Ford dealership in Dearborn is hosting Test Drive for Pets from 12-6:30 p.m. Thursday, and is inviting animal and car-lovers alike to check out some new Ford vehicles for a good cause.

Fairlane Ford President Julie Turla and Ford Motor Company have committed to donating $50 per test drive to the shelter.

Turla and husband Gary, both animal lovers, have committed to helping the shelter. They share their home with three formerly stray cats: Seymour, Roland, and Fergus. In fact, Seymour was found under the hood of a Fusion that came in for an oil change.

The Thursday event will also have a prize wheel for giveaways, as well as adoptable dogs and cats from the shelter for attendees to cuddle with—and maybe even take home.

For those who are interested in adoption, the shelter will host a Fairlane Ford Feline Frenzy, with same-day adoptions and reduced adoption fees of only $5 for cats more than four months old.
