Cool Cat Casino

The Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter’s annual Cool Cat Casino Night is an enjoyable evening out for gamers and non-gamers alike while raising money to help homeless animals become adoptable pets.

One lucky winner will score big with a raffle prize for  a $2,000 Walmart gift card.

Newly themed Hawaiian style to heat up the fun, the event includes chances to win at classics like Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, Black Jack, and Let It Ride. Bingo is also back for the second year in a row. Games feature cash payouts for winners–all while helping to raise funds to care for homeless animals.

A crowd favorite, the $2,000 Walmart gift card is once again generously donated by The Envelope Printery owner Dave Hamilton and the Dearborn and Taylor Walmart stores. A total of 2,000 raffle tickets will be sold for the gift card drawing. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased during casino night, or in advance, in person, from the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Participants need not be present at Cool Cat to win.

The Cool Cat Casino Night tickets include an open bar, appetizer buffet, live entertainment, and door prizes. The centerpiece of the luau spread will be a taco bar with all the sides (vegetarian, too) donated by the Dearborn Heights Del Taco.

Tickets for this adults-only event are $30 in advance at the Shelter or online, $35 at the door.

“We encourage attendees to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirts or skirts and shake off those winter blues,” says Debbie Stewart, longtime volunteer coordinator of the event. “There's great food and fabulous entertainment and the ticket price remains an affordable one to encourage all to come. It is must-attend event!"
