CAIR-MI Fundraising Banquet

The Michigan chapter of the Council for American-Islamic Relations has filed federal complaints for workplace discrimination cases against Muslims and federal complaints about the civil rights of Muslims being profiled at the U.S. - Canadian border. Moreover, a federal lawsuit was recently filed on behalf of the Michigan Islamic Academy, which was illegally denied zoning by Pittsfield Township.

When xenophobic and Islamophobic Arizona-style racial profiling legislation and anti-shari'ah legislation was introduced in the past year, CAIR-MI was at the forefront in challenging these efforts.

Such efforts takes resources, and financial assistance is needed to face the problems to come during this politically contentious election year.

This year's banquet will feature as speakers American Muslim leader Imam Siraj Wahhaj and Texas Wesleyan University Law Professor Sahar Aziz.

Babysitting will be available.
