Inkster-based Starfish Family Services (Starfish), a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating brighter futures for the children of at-risk families in metropolitan Detroit, will host its first annual fundraising event, “An Evening for Starfish: Turning the Tide for Children” on Thursday, April 26 at The Henry in Dearborn.
Presented by PNC Bank, the event will include a strolling dinner and engaging activities aligned with Starfish’s goals of school readiness for the most vulnerable children in the community. Attendees will have the chance to learn about the great work happening at Starfish and participate in enchanting hands-on experiences that reflect Starfish’s work with vulnerable young children.
This year’s event will honor the Ford Volunteer Corps with Starfish’s first annual Great Hearts Award, for their more than 20 years of support for Starfish children and families. Event sponsors include PNC Bank, Phillip Wm. Fisher, Bodman Attorneys and Counselors, Marketing Associates, Trott & Trott, Comerica, Consolidated Group Resources, Susie and Robert Citrin, Jack Demmer Ford, EMC, RL Polk, iscg, Market Strategies International, William and Marilyn Mitchell, Lynn and Dennis Pheney, Susan Rokosz (in memory of Michael J.
