$1,227 Raised for Dearborn Resident Fighting Uterine Cancer

Lisa Marie Gutowski is asking for some financial support as she battles against uterine cancer.

An online campaign to help Dearborn resident Lisa Marie Gutowski fund her battle against uterine cancer has brought in $1,227 in just two months.

Gutowski, a massage therapist and energy worker, created the fundraiser on GoFundMe.com in September with the help of her family and friends. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in June and has since completed two rounds of chemotherapy. With  four more rounds of chemotherapy ahead of her, each 21 days apart, she will likely not be able to resume full-time employment until 2014. As a result, her and her family are asking for some financial support to ease the burden of piling up medical bills.
The campaign hopes to raise a total of $25,000.
