VETERANS PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION

Governor Snyder by act of the vote of the members of the House and Representatives for Military and Veterans Afffairs amewdned Public Act 161 of 1861, prior to this amendment only those with precuninary housing (adaptive) by the VA were allowed to be exempt for Property Tax.  The amended now includes those who are 100 percent or those being paid with Temporary Disability Individual Unemployabilty who are permanent and total.  To include Surviving Spouses who receive Death Indemnity Compensation.  You need an affidavit from the VA so stating such, and then go to the City or County Tax Accessor and get your property tax to be exempt.  This will only be for year 2013 and beyond, but must be filed annually.  Contac the VA or the your Veterans Service Rep for the affadavitt.  Phil Smith
