Hockey Fights Cancer Night

HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER

On February 9th the Dearborn Firefighters Hockey Team will put on an event that may just save a life. The game will be held at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center.  The event is not just a charity hockey game, it will be a event that will change lives and honor those who fight cancer everyday.  The puck will drop at 4:30pm but the events will start before that.  Admission to the event will be by donation.  All of the money raised will go to the Josephine Ford Cancer Institute and Be The Match which is the national bone marrow registry.  The doors will open at 4pm and there will be a booth set up where people can sign up and be placed on the national bone marrow registry free of charge and it will only takes minutes to do.  A simple cheek swab is all it takes to be put on the list.  The real event will be at the end of the second period where they will take time to honor past and present cancer patients and survivors.  Also there will be 50/50 and raffles prizes.
