Hijabi Monologues UM-Dearborn Show 2014!

Interested in learning more about the experiences of American Muslim Women? Then be prepared to laugh, cry, and be angry!

The University of Michigan - Dearborn will be hosting a full-length performance of the Hijabi Monologues, a collection of stories that portray the experiences of American Muslim women. The winning story from our local submission contest will be performed for the first time on stage.

"The Hijabi Monologues is about the power of storytelling.

It is about creating a space for American Muslim women to share experiences; a space to breathe as they are; a space that does not claim to tell every story and speak for every voice.

Through sharing stories, strangers touch and connect. Through stories, we are challenged. Through stories, we are humanized."

This event is open to the public.

Pre-sale tickets are $7 and can be purchased if you email hijabimonologuesumd@gmail.com. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $10.

All proceeds go towards domestic violence departments at ACCESS and First Step. For more information please email us at hijabimonologuesumd@gmail.com.
