HFCC’s WHFR-FM to hold Benefit Blues Concert Nov. 17

HFCC’s public radio station WHFR-FM will host three popular local blues artists at a concert to benefit the station Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at West Dearborn’s New Place Lounge.  Once again Michigan-area blues musicians have generously donated their time to support WHFR with an evening of live blues music. Performers will include: Leonardo, the Chris Canas Band, and Machine Gun Kelly.  All proceeds will benefit HFCC’s local independent station WHFR-FM. The concert is open to the public (21 or older) for a modest $5 minimum donation at the door, and will offer food and drink available for purchase. Each talented artist has donated their performance for this benefit night, and the New Place Lounge (owned by a Dearborn family for more than 35 years), is providing the venue at no cost to the station.  The New Place Lounge is located at 22723 Michigan Avenue, a few blocks west of Military, in West Dearborn.  For details regarding this benefit concert, please contact WHFR General Manager Susan McGraw at 313.845.9842 or via email at whfr-gm@hfcc.edu.
