Dearborn League of Women Voters Host School Funding Forum

State leaders will discuss the impact of funding cuts to Dearborn Public Schools during a presentation on Sept. 26.

The Dearborn/Dearborn Heights League of Women Voters will host a public forum titled "What's Changing in School Funding" on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The forum will take place at 7 p.m. at the Dearborn Public Schools Administrative Service Center, 18700 Audette St.

The program begins at 7:05 p.m. with a presentation by Kathleen Straus, a member of the Michigan Board of Education, along with Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston and Craig Thiel, a member of the Citizens Research Council.

At 7:45 p.m., state Sen. Morris Hood III, Rep. George Darany and Rep. David Knezek will talk about what the state Legislature is doing to address school funding.
