Winter Weather Advisory Hits Wayne County

Commuters can expect icy conditions Tuesday morning as freezing rain hits southeast Michigan.

There's no serious snowfall on the way for southeast Michigan; instead, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory at 10:58 p.m. Jan. 17 warning of freezing rain.

The advisory states that "light precipitation" has begun to hit southeast Michigan and will continue into the early and mid-morning hours. It will affect Wayne, Washtenaw, Lenawee, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Monroe and Macomb counties.

Dearborn drivers can expect a slippery, icy commute the morning of Jan. 18, with some possibility of fog. The rain is expected to turn into snow, with little accumulation into Tuesday afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to hit no higher than the mid-30s on Tuesday, and drop to a chilly 17 at night.
