Why Go: This reception showcases the opening of a new exhibit that highlights the stories of seven diverse persons, looking at their service to their country and involvement in the community. Fighting for Democracy is presented as a companion to the museum's ongoing show, Patriots & Peacemakers: Arab Americans in Service to Our Country.

Where/When: ; 2-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Dads have two chances to share this special event with their daughters, ages 12 and under. The parties include music, door prizes, pizza, cookies, soft drinks and special keepsakes.

Why Go: Alumni, students, parents and friends are welcome to attend this day of homecoming events, including multiple basketball games, concessions, contests and more.

Pricing: $3 child, $5 adult, $7 for family

Where/When: Ford Community and Performing Arts Center; 8 p.m. Friday

Why Go: A concert featuring guest pianist and conductor Rich Ridenour, and vocalist Kira Frabotta and the Aerial Angels.

Pricing: $15-$30 for adults, or $10-$15 for ages 18 and younger.

Why Go: Kids in the fourth grade and up can make a "Hearts Galore" beaded bracelet and necklace. Registration required
