Why Go: Hear performances by the Henry Ford Community College Big Band, jazz ensembles, Vanguard Voices and several more for this annual showcase of HFCC's finest musical talents.

4. LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES

Where/When: Henry Ford Centennial Library; 1:30 p.m. Friday

Why Go: See the 1991 Disney film Beauty and the Beast, with all family members welcome. Crafts start at 1:30 p.m., with the film at 2. No registration is required, but space is limited.

5. DETROIT RE-NAILED

Where/When: Michigan Technical Education Center; 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday

Why Go: Henry Ford Community College hosts this all-day event, which includes guest speakers, a luncheon, and tours of Midtown and and Focus Hope in Detroit.
