Traffic Alert: Expect Delays, Slowed Speeds During Outer Drive Construction
Construction on the Combined Sewer Overflow site will mean traffic is reduced to one lane each way through mid November.
Motorists heading down Outer Drive this fall should expect their drive to take a little longer.
Through around mid-November, Combined Sewer Overflow construction will reduce traffic to one lane each way on Outer Drive, north of Michigan Avenue. The construction is due to the wrapup of the CSO project just west of Outer Drive.
The construction will include the replacement of roadway pavement and new curbs, gutters, driveway approaches and sidewalks.

Access to the , Fire Safety House, and the Garrison Street commercial area will not be affected. However, the construction timeline will encompass the Dearborn Fire Department Safety House and Pumpkin Patch on Oct. 15-16, as well as DHS homecoming football game and dance on Oct. 21.
The work is expected to last till mid-November, depending on weather conditions.
