Five things you need to know to start your day in Dearborn.

Ready to start your day? Here's what you need to know.

1. The clouds and chance of rain will continue today, says the National Weather Service. Expect a high near 66 degrees and significant winds all day. Bring a jacket when you head out–fall is here!

2. A wine and cheese reception for the will be held at the 's Padzieski Gallery at 5 p.m. Hosted by the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce, guests are invited to see the months of hard work (and delicious local food) painted by Dearborn artist Janet Kondziela. The public opening for the exhibition will be held 6-9 p.m. Friday.

3. The will host at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Open to kids ages 6-12, the event offers a fun way to encourage reading. Save your kid a spot by calling the library at 313-943-2345.

4. The Senior Alliance will be hosting another session of their Personal Action Toward Health seminar today from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The seminar will be held at Hubbard Manor East, located at 5500 Calhoun Street, and will aim at helping people with chronic conditions to learn how to live better lives.

5. In honor of Dearborn's automotive heritage, we bring you Facts. Today's fact: Ford Motor Company operated the South African Motor Corporation in Africa for years, but withdrew following the start of apartheid. However, in the late 1990s on after apartheid ended, Ford began selling in the region again.
