Today in Dearborn: July 11

Five things you need to know to start your day in Dearborn.

Ready to start your day? Here's what you need to know.

1. Watch out for rogue storms and rain showers today in Dearborn, says the National Weather Service. The high will hit a blazing 92 degrees and winds will pick up, which could make for some stormy conditions when a cold front moves into the area–though there's only a 40 percent chance of rain, according to predictions.

2. Speaking of hot temps, did you know that it can be dangerous to leave your animals alone outdoors? But that's not the only thing to worry about when your pets are alone in the yard. Check out our story on pet theft to find out how you can prevent bad things from happening to your animals, whether it's a strike from a cat-snatcher, or an overheated pup.

4. Happy 7-11 Day! You know what that means? Free Slurpees at all 7-Eleven locations! Here's –but get there early or you could end up in a long, long line.
