Terry Jones' Dearborn Protest Verdict to Be Announced Thursday

A decision on the Florida pastor's ability to demonstrate at Dearborn's Islamic Center of America is expected to be declared by the Wayne County Circuit Court.

Quran-burning Florida Pastor Terry Jones–who has recently announced himself as a 2012 presidential candidate–will hear a decision on his in front of Dearborn's on Thursday at the Wayne County Circuit Court.

Jones' appeal case was heard Oct. 7 concerning a ban placed on himself and associate Wayne Sapp–both of the anti-Islamic organization Stand Up America!–on holding a demonstration in front of the ICA.

On April 22, Jones and Sapp were by a jury in Dearborn after their planned protest brought them to the .

In that decision, Dearborn Chief Judge Mark Somers ordered Jones and Sapp to pay a $1 peace bond each, and to stay away from the Islamic Center and adjacent area for three years. They refused, and were briefly jailed.

Jones and Sapp are being defended by the Ann Arbor-based Thomas More Law Center, a Christian-focused firm known for defending cases having to do with freedoms of religion and religious speech.
