Support Vets With Salsa at the Dearborn Farmers Market
Check out our Dearborn Farmers and Artisans Market vendor of the week!
When Gunny Sergeant Dave Smith was serving in the Marines, his fellow service members loved nothing more than getting a taste of his homemade salsa.
Generally used to the canned variety, Smith became famous for his blend of fresh peppers, tomatoes, onions and spices.
Retired from the Marines for four years, Smith's salsa-making business exploded. Jar Head Salsa, based out of Flint, is now carried in a number of Michigan stores, and can be found in local farmers markets like Dearborn's, too.

True to their roots, ten percent of proceeds from sales of Jar Head Salsa and their homemade chips are given back to the Flint VFW group.
Vice President of Operations and Marketing Glen Brittingham is out at the Dearborn market every Friday giving out free samples, and said he can't believe how much the company has grown.
