Street Sale Promises Oodles of Good Finds for Bargain Hunters

The annual sale in the Ford Homes Historic District takes place Saturday, although multiple vendors will be selling goodies all weekend long.

You haven't done garage sale season justice until you've visited the Edison Street Sale.

The multi-home yard and garage sale, hosted by the Ford Homes Historic District, includes about 10 blocks of homes on Edison and surrounding streets and includes dozens of homeowners selling everything from furniture and home goods to electronics and DVDs.

The Ford Homes district is located just south of Michigan Avenue and east of Outer Drive in downtown west Dearborn. The district is known for being the site of a group of homes constructed in the early 1900s for Ford employees and relatives.

Aside from the sales, the annual event will include a hot dog sale by Cub Scout Pack 1117, as well as a bake sale and tin can raffle. Proceeds from the raffle and bake sale will benefit Friends For the .

The official hours of the sale are 10 a.m.-1 p.m., but many homes feature longer hours and go for several days.

The home at 22352 Gregory will be selling 9 a.m.-5 p.m. that day. Homeowner Leslie Herrick says they'll have "electronics, household items, collectibles, linens and lots of clothes and toys for boys (sizes 6 months-7x)" as well as old records.

owners Windy Weber and Carl Hultgren will be hosting a sale Thursday-Sunday at their home at 2240 Elmdale. Sale items will be personal, not affiliated with the store, and will include pottery, stoneware, stereo equipment, collectibles, vintage clothes, books, records, arcade games, electronic drums, videotapes, art, photograph equipment and more.

The sale will run 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 2-4.
